Get real-time information about traffic, weather, and speed cameras along any journey. My Navigation also includes Parking and Fuel Station Finder and
Dynamic Range Mapping to make sure you always have the fuel to get where you need to go. All maps will be automatically updated over the air.

My Alert is the optional service purchasable on the My Alfa Connect web portal that will send you a push notification on the app in case of suspected attempted theft of your Alfa Romeo Tonale, or if it’s towed without authorization. And, in case of theft, you can speak directly to a dedicated assistance center. After reporting to the police, the system will activate tracking and transmit the vehicle's position.

Tonale debuts in a front-wheel drive 130 HP Hybrid version, with a new 4-cylinder 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine that delivers 130 HP and 240 Nm of peak torque, paired with a built-in 48-Volt, 15-kW and 55-Nm “P2” electric motor and an exclusive 7-speed Dual-Clutch automatic transmission.

Alfa Romeo Tonale provides an authentic “hybrid experience” that combines top performance with high efficiency, versatility and comfort. In fact, its sporty Alfa Romeo DNA is enhanced by many hybrid features, like: “Silent Start”, to start the vehicle using exclusively the Electric engine. “Electric Drive”, to drive with the electric motor only in situations like traffic jams or parking maneuvers. “Energy Recovery”, to recover energy from deceleration and braking. “e-Boosting” uses the electric motor to support the petrol engine, optimising its operating point and increasing the torque on the wheel.

The 160 HP Hybrid VGT (Variable-Geometry Turbo) is equipped with front-wheel drive and new hybrid technology. Its variable-geometry turbocharger paired with 7-speed Alfa Romeo TCT dual-clutch transmission and the 48-volt 15-kW, 55-Nm “P2” electric motor make it possible for the 1.5-liter gasoline engine to propel the wheels even when the internal combustion engine is turned off. Alfa Romeo has opted for this technical solution to offer an authentic electrified experience. The transmission enables startup and travel in electric mode at low speeds and when parking and cruising, ensuring the typical performance of a gasoline engine but with consumption (gas + electric) comparable to a diesel engine, with extremely linear power delivery and really brilliant acceleration.

The most powerful version in the line-up in terms of performance and level of electrification will be the exclusive 280 HP Plug-in Hybrid Q4.

The advanced hybrid system combines the 1.3-liter 
MultiAir turbo gasoline to provide traction to the front wheels – with the electric motor, to which the rear wheels are connected. The system has a 15.5 kWh battery and delivers a total output of 280 HP.

This makes it the sportiest version in its class, with 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 6.2 seconds.

The Plug-in Hybrid version will be equipped with Q4 all-wheel drive for an unparalleled level of control and driving pleasure. The Tonale Q4 will be the most efficient Plug-in Hybrid C-SUV, with range in electric mode of up to 82 km in the city cycle and over 69 km in the combined cycle. In the name of maximum efficiency, a full battery charge takes 2.5 hours when using the 7.4 kW fast charger.​​

The new 1.6-liter 130hp diesel engine is the latest addition to the engine range with 320 Nm of torque and 1500 rpm, paired with 6-speed Alfa Romeo TCT dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Also with the diesel engine, Alfa Romeo Tonale boasts the most direct steering in the segment (13:6:1), which guarantees a safe and confortable driving experience, placing it at the top of the class in terms of agility and driving dynamics. In addition, it is the only model in its category to be equipped with the Integrated Brake System (IBS).

The new Tonale diesel offers the Alfa Romeo Torque Vectoring and FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) shock absorbers as standard features. The architecture uses the MacPherson scheme on both axles with specific geometry and characteristic angles.

Natural and instinctive, precise and direct, Tonale leads the C-SUV with the most direct steering ratio, 13.6. Combined with advanced front-wheel suspension systems, it redefines how a SUV should feel on the road.

​Tonale also features another distinctive Alfa Romeo trait: all-aluminium, mono-block, steering column-mounted paddle shifters. Even with an automatic transmission, the paddle shifters offer a responsive and exciting alternative to any drive or journey.

The balance of weight between the two axles provides an unparalleled level of driving pleasure.

The Tonale versions equipped with front-wheel drive use the excellent balance of masses to optimise torque delivery on the ground and handling on corners; the latter is further emphasised in the Q4 all-wheel-drive version by the torque available on the ground for each axle.

Alfa Romeo Tonale is the only model in its segment to be equipped with the cutting-edge "brake by wire" system, known as IBS. Innovation and performance, mechanics and electronics, all come together to provide increased brake responsiveness on the road and the best brake pedal feeling.


This system allows you to maximise energy regeneration​ with zero vibrations and shortened stopping distances.​ ​Overall braking performance is enhanced by the adoption of fixed calipers by Brembo, with 4 pistons and self-ventilated discs at the front and full discs at the rear.

The Tonale features the latest of intelligent suspension systems. The "Dual Stage Valve" system adapts to road conditions and driving behaviour in milliseconds

Choose between Comfort or Sport and experience how a special valve and piston independently regulate the electronic shock absorbers and dampers. These two suspension modes are selectable within the three driving modes, Advanced Efficiency and Normal with Comfort, for a smoother ride on all types of road. In contrast, the Dynamic driving mode calibrates the Sport suspension for increased handling through turns and an enhanced sporty feel.​

The front-wheel-drive versions of Tonale, Hybrid and Diesel, come standard with the Alfa Romeo electronic self-locking diferential to guarantee perfect traction for a smooth driving experience, emphasising the agility and sporty character of this car.

Built into the DNA selector and combined with the MacPherson front suspension, this system ensures sporty and effective driving dynamics by controlling the vehicle stability, and by redirecting the power to the wheels when accelerating on corners. It also provides greater control on slippery surfaces, as well as greatly reduces understeer, transferring the torque from the inner to the outer wheel in order to ensure longitudinal acceleration and consequently better road holding.
